Hello Everyone

Megan recieved a chemo treatment today. She also was given her results from the PET scan she had last week. The PET scan showed some improvement. The doctor seemed to be postive overall. She will get a second opinion from USC and the tumor board will be looking at the results as well. She has pulmanary function test next wednesday. This is a test that will assess the function of her lungs. One of the medicines in the chemo is harmful to the lungs.

Megan now has three to four treatments left. Please continue to pray for her strength, peace, and health!

Megan has 3 more chemo treatments. Her next treatment is on Wednesday. Please pray for her. As the chemo treatments are coming to an end her body has become worn out. Please pray for her strength and peace! Again thank you for all your prayers!

Update June 4, 2009

Hello Everyone

Sorry it has been so long since our last update. Megan was able to come home May 20, 2009, the day of her third chemo treatment. She was welcomed by her family and over 500 hands from all of you that have been supporting her. She had a PET scan that week also. The PET scan showed that Megan is at a stage four. She will be meeting with the cancer center at USC next week.
God has given Megan a peace and a comfort about the whole situation. Prayers have been and will continue to be answered as we call out to our LORD!
Megan has still had no negative side effects to the chemo. She has only been tired. Please be praying for her strength.

Isla was able to come home a little over a week after she was born May 27, 2009. She has been doing great. She has been growing and at her last check up she was 5lbs 2 ounces. As you can see in the previous blog Kadence and Kailer LOVE their new "little sis."

Hello Everyone

Megan is still at the hospital. She will be recieving her second chemo treatment on Wednessday. The baby is doing well. She will most likely be born in 2 weeks. Megan will probably stay in the hospital for about a week after Isla is born.
She has reacted well to the first chemo treatment. Megan's oncologist has said that her initial response to the first treatment is great. He says the lymph nodes on her neck have went down in size. She didn't have side effects. She is truly appreciative of your prayers and support. She would like to thank everyone who was able to make a hand for her on Friday at the Shoppes and the College and Career group at Calvary Chapel Chino Hills.

We as a family would love to see you all at JoJo's Pizza in Chino Hills off of Chino and Peyton.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

Give a Hand

Hello everyone I know some people were confused about this Friday’s event our friend Dahlia created the idea bellow. How incredible to be able to help support someone in need?

This one is easy…lend a hand by giving your hand. All you have to do is trace your hand on a piece of paper and cut it out to show your support. You can decorate it with colors, stickers, glue, glitter, pictures or just simply write an encouraging thought or verse. Even if you grabbed a piece of scrap paper or the back of some junk mail, how hard would it be to do the rest???...totally EASY! You can even do this whether you actually know the person or not. It is incredible to be able to “show” someone that you are supporting them, so that they are actually able to visualize it. How long will it take you?…it can just be a few quick minutes or if you want to get artsy, just a bit longer. How encouraging would it be to be able to “see” that there are caring people that wish that they could Lend A Hand, but instead are at least able to give a hand…their hand! Please mail your hand 4195 Chino Hills Pkwy. #594, Chino Hills, CA 91709 or you can bring your hands to the PF Changs in Chino Hills and receive a free appetizer card!!! Please feel free to copy this blog and forward it to your friends. We will be using the hands to decorate when Megan comes home from the hospital (after Isla is born). Show your hand whether you know Meg or you just read this for the first time and you can pray for her! Thanks!

So far Megan has not experienced any side effects that are expected when you first start chemo. Please continue to pray for Megan and Isla. Megan's next treatment is scheduled for the 6th. They are not certain on when Isla will be delivered but the doctors are saying that it will be shortly after that. VISITORS You can come and visit from 10 - 6. Please again stay only for 15 to 30 min. And please if you are ill or think you are about to become sick. Thank you all.

Visitation

As you know Megan started Chemo on Wednesday night. The doctor has instructed her to tell her friends and family that if they are sick to not come and visit. Chemo weakens the immune system and as a result Megan will now have more chances of getting a cold or flu if someone comes in to visit her. Thank you for your understanding!!!!

Hello everyone
The baby and Megan are doing well. They did not start the chemo yet. That got rescheduled to today. So anytime now a nurse should be in to start the chemo. Please continue to pray for Megan's strength, peace, hope.

Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. Romans 5: 3-5

Visting Hours

Megan loves all the support people are giving her by praying or coming in and visting. However things get a bit hectic in the hospital at times. She is asking that when you come and visit to only stay 15 to 20 minutes. She truly appreciates the visits she has gotten but at times it can be some what overwhelming. She is also requesting that if at all possible all visitations are done before 6pm. Thank you for your understanding.

Thank you again for your prayers!

April 19, 2009

Megan is 27 years old and 30 weeks pregnant tomorrow. For the past 4-6 weeks she has been seeing a doctor for a lump on the side of her neck. She also was experiencing some nausea, night sweats, and chest pressure. The doctors told her that best case scenario it was an abscess and worse case scenario that it was lymphoma. On Monday the 13 of April she went to her second day of work as a Science teacher at a school in Claremont. Right after work her mom took her to the doctors office. At the doctors they found that her heart rate was extremely high and they told her to go to the emergency room. The first xray they gave her in the ER they told her that there was something going on inside of her. She was then admitted to the hospital.
Since being in the hospital she has had a needle biopsy, core biopsy, ultra sound and x ray of her heart, lymph node extraction, chest tube to drain the fluid around her heart, and a bone marrow biopsy.
The preliminary results have shown that there are several small masses and one large 11 cm mass of Hodgkinslymphoma. The current results reveal that she is at stage two. The final results of the bone marrow biopsy will reveal a more precise stage.
We are waiting for the second opinion from the City of Hope on the confirmation of the Hodgkins Lymphoma, Megan will be starting chemo on Tuesday.

Despite all of these things. The baby has not been effected she has strong heart beats and is doing well. They monitor the baby twice a day. She is fully developed and if for some reason she had to be delivered today they said she would be fine.

God has answered all the prayers that Megan has been praying for! We prayed that it would be Hodgkins lymphoma because it is the best one to have and the most responsive to chemo therapy and God has kept the baby healthy.

The chemo plan is to do two treatments which will occur over a four week period. The chemo is safe for the baby. Our goal is to deliver at 34 weeks.

Megan would like you to know that the LORD has provided many Christian nurses and doctors. She would like to thank you for all of your prayers because the LORD is faithful and He has been listening to our crys and answering them in His timing. God has been giving her peace and comfort. Being sick has always been something that Megan has not liked. She says she has been so blessed to have a peace that passes all understanding. She says that even in the hard moments of being here in the Hospital she is able to feel His presence around her.

We appreciate all your prayers...please keep talking to GOD!!!! we all are...

"And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:7
